Hammarplast is a Swedish manufacturer of plastic products for homes and households in Tingsryd.
The company manufactures plastic products for kitchens and cleaning, such as plastic buckets for scrubbing floors, water jugs and storage boxes.
The company was founded in 1947 by the brothers Carl Hammargren and Hugo Hammargren as Hammargrens Industri AB. The 1950s became a decade when plastic began to be used to an increasing extent, including for household products. During this time, thermos jugs with an outer casing were made of plastic. One of Hammarplast's designers was Sigvard Bernadotte.
During the 1960s, Hammarplast's production was extensive. At that time, furniture was also made of plastic and sledges.
In 1967, Skaraplast was bought, whose production of household products was moved to Tingsryd. In 1970, Hammarplast was bought by Perstorp AB, after which the factory was expanded and modernized. Hammarplast sold the company in 1985.
Hammarplast was bought in 2011 by Finnish Orthex in Lojo.
