In a kitchen in Norrköping, 1949. The Lindquist family grinds a cellulose sponge in the kitchen grinder. Dissatisfied with ordinary household cloths, father Curt was keen to invent a cloth as absorbent as the sponge. The grey-green mass that he rolled out became the famous sponge cloth.

We love to preserve traditions and thus we still strongly believe in the good idea from 1949: an absorbent dishcloth made from recycled cotton and Swedish cellulose from sustainably replanted Swedish forests. Our promise: washable, durable cloths that are 100% biodegradable, chemical free and compostable - perfect for growing new trees! An honest and clean product that you can trust.
