Guldkroken Keramik in Hjo was founded by Märta and Bengt Grunditz. What began in the 1940s with the manufacture of elves and trolls in wood developed into an extensive production of hand-turned and cast ceramic objects. Bengts and Märta's innovative and creative desire to experiment was an important driving force.
During the 70s and 80s, ceramics were in great demand. Guldkroken Keramik had its own premises for displaying objects in our three largest cities. Among the popular objects were candlesticks in several different designs and piggy banks in different sizes and patterns. The small family business grew into a company with many employees. Guldkroken became a well-known brand.
