White blood cells play an important role in our immune system. Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

Zinc acetate is a good chemical form of zinc for lozenges when the immune system needs an effective dose of zinc. Acetate does not bind to zinc, but releases 100% of the zinc ions into the saliva, which allows the active form of zinc to be quickly absorbed into the oral cavity. To get a good effect of zinc, the daily dose of zinc should be high, preferably between 80 and 90 mg in divided doses. The tablet should be slowly dissolved in the mouth every two hours for about 20 minutes. Such a dose of zinc for a few days or weeks is usually sufficient.

Zinc in the form of Zinc Acetate has been shown in studies in Finland to have high bioavailability when absorbed in the oral cavity.
