With Gelsectan, a biomechanical film is created to protect the damaged epithelium of the intestine in the event of a disturbed barrier function. Gelsectan thereby helps the body to repair the damaged epithelium in the intestine by preventing the intestinal contents from reaching the damaged epithelium, which constitutes a completely new way of treating IBS.

Gelsectan has a prebiotic effect and thereby favors the growth of good bacteria in the intestine to restore the intestinal flora, which can be beneficial both in IBS and medication use.
