Niferex is a medicine and a form of iron that is taken by mouth and is used in the treatment of, or to prevent iron deficiency. The capsules are called enteric capsules because they do not secrete their contents in the stomach. They instead release the iron into the intestine, where it is then absorbed into the body.

The duration of treatment to prevent iron deficiency varies depending on the situation and your doctor decides how long you need to take Niferex. It usually lasts until normal blood levels are reached, which usually takes 10-20 weeks or longer.

Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin.

Iron is also essential for oxygen transport and for the transfer of energy in the body.

Iron helps to reduce fatigue and exhaustion.

Iron has a role in the process of cell division.
