In the mid-1950s, in a large red two-storey house in Källberget at Leksand's southern entrance, Rut Carla Landström founded Rutebo Keramik together with her husband David Alfred Landström. Rut had previously run the ceramics workshop "Gammelgård" in Sörmland with a few employees. Rutebo Keramik was a well-functioning family business where his son Klas Håkan and some employees also worked. The production initially consisted of utility and household goods in clay.
