Jie Gantofta was founded in 1942 by John Evert "Jie" Johnson in Helsingborg.
From the beginning, it was not ceramics that were produced, but then wood was the main raw material in the production.
Two years after its founding, production moved to Gantofta outside Helsingborg and this is where the production of ceramics started in 1952.
