GILLE

Tord Einarsson in Örkelljunga founded the Gille brand with his Café Gillet in the 1960s. The rumor about the good cookies spread and soon Gillekakor began to be sold all over Sweden. Already in the 1970s, the characteristic family packaging was launched.

In the early 1980s, Norwegians, Danes and Germans began to demand the cookies and exports began to pick up, as did product development, as Gillebagaren now also invested in baking gingerbread.

In the early 1990s, Gille became the market leader in Sweden and shortly afterwards received the "Large Export Award" for its development abroad. In 2000, exports were greater than sales in Sweden.
